Capel Countryside Club was formed in the mid 1980's. The objective was appreciation of the countryside and architecture by observation and photography to include the walking of public footpaths and study of natural history in all its aspects through monthly meetings.

Over recent years support for the walks has wained mainly due to an aging membership, however the club has continued with monthly indoor meetings from September to May (excluding December when many people are involved in religeous and festive activities).

The talks at these meetings have covered a range of topics including wildlife, land management, farming methods old and new and rural architecture among others.

With so many residents now interested in walking the many routes in and around Capel St Mary it would be wonderful to get this group back up to full membership.

We welcome any new members to the group.
